Please explain...

I have 3 x 1stop bracketing set in the main menu.

I have set the lever function to bracketing on/off...... so I can then take bracketed shots when the DR is high with just the flick of a switch, instead of hunting in menus ..... :)

The DR in the S1R is so good that the 5 or 7 shot options seem to be overkill .... even in sunrise/sunset conditions.

Thanks, I had the understanding that you had identified a focus trick or something... Regarding exposure, I mostly trust the S1R's default setting, sometimes ajusting with +/- a third of a stop or so.

Nice picture, but if you're throwing down the glove on Saint-Joseph producers, we may well get into a fight and have this thread shut down. 😐 Seriously, for Saint-Joseph, for me it's hands down Pierre Gonon. I was lucky enough to buy lots before it became u"ber cult.

yes, I've heard that! But, alas, in the States the price of fine wine is getting hard to justify, especially as my cellar is now larger than my life expectancy! 😀

and with Brexit looming a big and sizeable cellar (which I don't have alas) will be like a goldmine

Thanks. Nope no need to have  a fight, I have plenty Pierre Gonon Saint-Joseph in my cellar 😋

Great photo of a fantastic wine! I love that Gonon can be drunk relatively early.

I agree, the AWB was off toward the cool side.  Here is the B/W version:
