In an interview with Hugh Brownstone, Peter Karbe said that Leica expects to announce and ship the 28 in 2020 and the 21 and 24 in 2021.  I wasn't expecting any news before late Spring.   I have an order in for the 24, am using the 35 constantly.  Some favor the 28 over the 35, but they will have to wait for it.

Interesting. I thought that they would share similar DNA and be launched all at once. Sort of like the 75/90 and 35/50 were in pairs. Guess not than. Was hoping to add the 21 APO. Looks to be about two years off realistically. Unfortunate.

Try the Sigma 28 Art, it’s a current gen Art lens, like the 40/1.4 and the 35/1.2.  Really a solid lens and not much bigger if at all than the Summicron primes.  Currently mine is glued to the front of my SL2.  The 28 Cron should be out in 2020, and I’m interested to see if it will keep up with the 28/1.4 art.
