jaeger Posted January 29, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had another leica MP240 before and some images are overlapping in LR6. It happens like this... some (not all) newly imported images render images from previous import. It also goes back and forth... new and old switch byitself and seems LR is very confused. I have to wait until the right image pops and start editing it then it stabilized. Has anyone have this weird experience? How did you fix it?
Advertisement Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Hi jaeger, Take a look here overlapping image in Lightroom 6. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ecar Posted January 29, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 29, 2020 I had similar issues a while ago. I'm no LR expert, but it seems to be due to some kind of database corruption. Had to optimise the catalog and force LR to rebuild previews, IIRC. This took a while on large catalogs, but everything went back to normal.
Jean-Michel Posted January 29, 2020 Share #3 Posted January 29, 2020 Yes, it happen on occasion, annoying but easy enough to fix by selecting the image, then go: LIBRARY Previews, and rebuild the preview of that image; no need to rebuild ALL previews. Optimizing the catalog does not seem to fix the issue: rebuilding ALL previews would fix this but if your catalog, such as mine, contains a very large number of images the races would take quite a bit of time. I find it easier to just rebuild the occasional wrong preview. As to why this happens, I have not one iota of idea why. 1
jaapv Posted January 30, 2020 Share #4 Posted January 30, 2020 A numbering issue, two images with the same number?

Hi, I thought that this might be the case, but it does not appear to be so. And if that was the case, then that would apply to a series of images; as it happens there appears to be no rhyme or reason for it.
jaapv Posted January 30, 2020 Share #6 Posted January 30, 2020 Not if LR uses the pseudo-random Unique Image ID Number. If there is a bug in the camera software that produces the same number occasionally.

In any case, it is easy to fix and just go on processing.
Adam Bonn Posted February 10, 2020 Share #8 Posted February 10, 2020 funnily enough I've just had the exact same issue! I've never had this problem in 2+ years of LR/M9 ownership, but 4 weeks into M240 ownership and LR is listing 2 of my previews as being of images shot already (about 2 weeks previous to the actual images) Opening the file in the develop module restores the correct image, but then loses the correct preview back in library! Doing as Jean-Michel suggests and rebuilding the previews for just the 2 files seems to have worked...
jaeger Posted February 10, 2020 Author Share #9 Posted February 10, 2020 It seems to be a M240 glitch... I hope the next firmware update can address this.

It’s not a M240 issue. Same thing happens, infrequently, with my files from non-Leica equipment.

sblutter Posted February 13, 2020 Share #14 Posted February 13, 2020 I shoot & print a lot. My workflow is to start with Bridge straight from the card, then open the shot I want to work with in PS. I suppose shooters that have masses of shots to run through like wedding photogs, LR would be helpful - but for art printing, editing in PS to me is the way to go
