Hi WestMichigan it is Elmarit-M ASPH 28/2,8 ,thanks.

Thanks for the Info.

There is a wonderful Clarity to the Image whenever I see it.

How much adjustments did you make to the image file before posting it to the thread to share it with us?

My 'sense' is that other than the B&W conversion it is a pretty straight file, but being wrong is just another hobby of mine - I'm getting good at it too!~ :)

Glad to see the M8 thread still going strong. It's too bad Leica cannot handle the production of two M cameras at a time, the M8 remains viable, and could have remained a less expensive alternative to the M9. In general I remain convinced that the M8 delivers slightly sharper images than the M9 and has a small edge over the M9 when it comes to B&W photography.

Here's a shot done using sunlight bouncing off a building towards the end of the day. Seconds later the light glowing on the face of my girlfriend was gone.

It could be a straight file given the bright light which also produces rich shadows and hence a contrasty image. Nevertheless, regardless of lens, Post Processing is almost always necessary if you want your image to pop and have wide tonal range. A very simple and fast B&W conversion software program is Silver Efex Pro. If you don't have the patience to play with the B&W filter sliders on the later versions of photoshop, this is a great alternative. I use both.

BTW the M8 gives excellent results with just about any lens, Leica or not. There are dozens of examples of this on this thread.

Cheers,

Here's a shot from a series ( http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/other/186230-orphaned-series.html#post1733911 ) I did last Saturday with my M8 and 35mm Summicron ASPH. The title of the series is: "Orphaned." I generally go out with only one camera, and one lens. I hate to carry bulk.

PasMichiel - I've been creeping on the 75mm Summarit for a while now. I think it will be great on the M8 for portraits (head shots, street fashion shoots etc), what are your opinions on this matter? And can you provide some more examples? :) Thanks in advance.

Spent the last week in France and surely didn't miss the most important event of the year on planet earth: Le Mans 24h.

I shot like last year just with Leica M, made an impulse M9 purchase, but still had the 135 APO-Telyt the most time on the M8.2 ;-) This camera will surely see much love still - promise:

(seriously folks, those chosen size restrictions here are a bit strange)

I love the 75 on the m8. With my m6 I used the 35 and the 90 very often. and with the crop of the m8 I desided to use the 28 and 75. I modified the lens holder of the m6 to use it with the m8.so I now have the m8 over my sholder with the 28 and 75 (and ofcourse a extra battery in my pocket) and no bag. :D

When I'm home I will place some extra pics
