It seemed too good to be true. With this simple adapter I could use my L39 screw-mount lenses on my Monochrom. And I've been doing it successfully for a few months now, taking it off and on without issue. But now it is stuck really tight, and I just can't get it to come off. I put the Leitz 90mm f/4 back in to try to reconnect before turning anticlockwise to take both lens and adapter out, but the adapter just won't budge.

AND...I was so happy with this system I got another for my M-A...and now IT is stuck too!

Perhaps it is the weather, with both adapters getting stuck at the same time. But it has been colder since Christmas than it is today.

Suggestions?

Problem solved already! The central heating came on, the temperature rose, and they both came off easily. So, there must be a fine temperature line for these things! Seriously, it's not that cold here. 38C.

If central heating 🥶didn't come up you could save towards M10M and keep M9M as dedicated screw mount camera 😱

Edit, nothing wrong with either M9M or M246, and you could still afford some other life essentials.

Not genuine Leica, alas. Pixco.

It did cross my mind mmradman, that it would not be the end of the world if they were permanently stuck, as I do like those old lenses on the more modern cameras.

Attach a lens to the adapter. Push the button for lens release. Push with the lens in the direction of the camera - no strong force necessary and turn the lens left (looking to your lens from the front) - again without having to use any force the adapter will get loose. Similar procedure if the adapter is fixed to your lens: just turn the lens a little bit beyond the point were it usually can be released - the adapter will get loose.  The method was recommended by Kisselbach in his early book about the Leica (LTM and M) and he was employed by Leitz, so you can be rather sure that the camera will not be harmed. Only in cases where you cannot losen the adapter the ways I described and you sense a strong resistance (this never happened to me), you should leave it alone and let a specialist look at it.

I remember using my dad's IIIB in the late seventies on a freezing cold day. Setting the aperture became increasingly difficult as he camera cooled towards freezing! That said, I would have thought that mount and adapter should both be made from chromed brass so should contract at similar rates?
