Much appreciated.  Shop windows provide good contrast scene but are reasonably well illuminated, not much challenge for a hight ISO camera.

Where you live don't you have a dark alleyway with some rubbish bins and maybe some fog or similar, a torture dungeon perhaps 😁.

Any chance of 25000, 50000 an 100000 ISO RAW's, please.

No dark alleyways with some rubbish bins, unfortunately, and the fog has lifted.  This is the best I could find.  ISO 6400 files can be pushed quite a bit in post.  This one here is with Exposure +1, Highlights -70, Shadows +60, Whites +20, Blacks -20, and then Sharpening +55 and NR +40.

And now ISO 12500 and ISO 25000.  The files look very clean as long as one doesn't manhandle them too truculently.

And now ISO 50000 and ISO 100000.  50000 is usable, IMO.

Let's show one for 'crop-ability' of high ISO files.  First, as stated before, EV of -1 should be the default settings when in A mode with this camera in order to protect highlights.  In extreme high contrast scenes, as much as -5/3 EV might be necessary.  This one is properly exposed and with the right shutter speed of 1/180 sec. because there is some movement in the scene, the women entering the frame on the right side behind the vehicle.  In order to protect their privacy, I won't show one where they are closer to the center of the frame just before entering the place.  Besides, the car is ruining the picture.  Anyway, it's for illustration purposes only.

Less compressed JPEG here: https://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-zvNVdH/ Check out the detail on the upper left side of the crop.  The crop is from a processed file with Exposure +1.24 and Shadows +80 in LR, Sharpening +60 and NR +40.  The crop looks pretty clean.

M10M + APO 50 Summicron-M with LR default settings.

At very large print sizes (which I do to 60" wide!), ISO 3200 on the new Monochrom has -- to my eyes -- a similar looking "grain" structure to drum-scans off my Mamiya 7 when I use Delta 100 or Pan F+ 50 (films which were not quite as fine grained as Acros 100 or TMAX 100).

The thing that stands out, to me at least, is the way that the Leica sensor is recording the "grain" appears really really film-like .....ie, the scattering of the noise on the M10M looks random and it is interspersed between the shadows + highlights in a way that is remarkably reminiscent of the way that grain does in film, which is adding a whole extra layer of beauty to the digital file.

The difference is that, although the Mamiya 7 camera and lenses are a super-sharp set-up for 6x7, the new Leica seems to record the detail much truer and with higher acuity, IMHO, but without looking overtly "digital" at all.

The M10M seems to produce mightily impressive files ....it's among the very first cameras that I've seen in digital where the files would tick every box i've searched for (digital convenience / digital acuity / digital high resolution.....but with an overlay of film-looking naturalness / random grain).

I, without any reserve, second you. I have exactly the same feeling and conclusions. The M10M is definitely an outstanding camera.

Thanks Chaemono for posting all these files. I really like these last ones dynamic gray scale . Your posts helps me a lot in deciding to go for the M10M. Keep them coming please. Maybe some portraits as well.

This is the best I can do for skin tones: https://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-Zd87Qg/

They are all crops.  The third one is at ISO 6400.

Thanks Chaemono for posting. Beautiful gray scale.

Picked up my own M10M yesterday. Looking forward to try it out in a wide range of lighting situations and with pre ASPH and ASPH lenses.

Even if I found the 24M sensor on 246 quite enough resolution wise, I am surprised how much I enjoy the look from the new 40M sensor on M10M. It is simply fantastic.

Having seen examples of high ISO files from the M10M, I did a quick test this evening. I simply stepped out of the back door and in the paltry illumination provided by a small motion sensitive lamp took a shot (of all things!) a dustbin!  ISO 32000!  Imported into LR Classic, click the auto button then move the noise reduction slider to 50. Export as a jpg.  A terribly uninteresting scene but I was amazed at the detail obtained at such a ridiculously high ISO.

Will try to find time to have a nighttime wander along the High Street to put things to the test in a 'street' format.

thanks this has been useful

I wanted to confirm that put through some of my existing BW presets I'd get a similar kind of punch that I sometimes want.

That is a very strong endorsement. Do you really see such a decisive difference between these files and those, in similar situations, from the M246?

I enjoyed playing with this file a lot, there's a hell of a lot of range in these files. I keep reading posts where people are worrying that the files are flat and can't be pushed far in post.. not sure why that impression came about. I overcooked this edit with a few gradient maps and some luminance masking but I'm definitely happy with how malleable the files are.
