Advertisement Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 Hi T00m, Take a look here Black Q2 Leica Dot. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Herr Barnack Posted January 21, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 21, 2020 (edited) As best as I can tell, the red dot on my Q2 is 1 cm. diameter; I'm not sure if this size is standardized between M and Q cameras, though. This guy has black dots for sale normally but is out at the moment: http://www.leitax.com/Accesories-for-Leica-M-cameras5.html You could also try DAG camera repair (608-835-3342) or Sherry Krauter. jaapv Posted January 23, 2020 Share #5 Posted January 23, 2020 Or, just pull the dot off, spray it black, scratch the paint off the lettering and stick back again.

Christian The CS came back to me: They are not allowed to give away those black dots as it is a registered trademark of leica geosystems or anything like that. @MikeTaylor may we get in touch for your offered black dot? Richard K Posted December 14, 2021 Share #11 Posted December 14, 2021 Wish they would offer this as an option for the Q2.
acg69 Posted December 15, 2021 Share #12 Posted December 15, 2021 Call me weird (it’s not going to be the first time!) but unless one lives in a place that street violence runs rampant, I don’t see the point of all this attempt to mask / hide the fact that this is a Leica. It is an understated piece of kit anyway with only a red dot that means something to a connoisseur: either a fellow photographer (hardly a threat) or a thief who knows that this is a Leica, red dot or not… Of course, it is no skin off my back and we are all entitled to do as we please with our cameras anyway:)

Often heard people saying terms like "fancy camera", "looks expensive" ...and other topicals regarding the Canon, and only "looks cute", "it's that a film camera?" regarding the Leica. Location plays a lot, but so does owner's pose, overall looks including clothing (and camera bag). Act like you carrying an expensive gear item, and the "wolfs" will notice that Gaffers tape will be the easiest and simplest solution if it concerns one so much - beyond is just really about ownership pride
Herr Barnack Posted December 15, 2021 Share #14 Posted December 15, 2021 I think it is safe to say that recent history has shown us that criminal thugs are going to rob people regardless of what logo is on the front of their camera or on the face of their wristwatch, or how nice their camera bag looks. 2
