lct Posted January 17, 2020 Share #3  Posted January 17, 2020 You mean the Elmarit-M 90/2.8 v2 (11807/11808/11889) i guess. My 11807 had focus issues on digital when it was not 6-bit coded. Yours needs to be calibrated for digital i suspect, unless it is 6-bit coded already. Welcome, dear visitor! epand56 Posted January 19, 2020 Share #6  Posted January 19, 2020 (edited) I had the same problem of Phantom, my Elamrit 90/2.8 was completely off. No way to focus properly at any distance. I had to send it to Leica along with the Lux 35/1.4 Asph to calibrate the camera to both lenses. When they came back they were spot on, and so were all my other lenses. Later, I had both lenses (90 and 35) 6 bit coded at Will van Manen - Kamera-Service, for a very reasonable price. Anyway, no other way to fix the Elmarit 90. I think your lens needs a trip to Leica. Ask your Leica Store for this. tommonego@gmail.com Posted January 19, 2020 Share #7  Posted January 19, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just used my M8 and an older 90mm Elmarit to do some head shots, final reproduction would be 4x5 inches so the 10mp was fine. I found this very difficult, the small rectangle for the 90 on the M8 and the small depth of field made the images difficult. I did about 20 people all lined up so I had less than 5 minutes per person. I did find my later pictures on the series were sharper as I was giving the people more time to settle and learned to focus the rangefinder on the eyes. I was using f4. Until you get used to it 90 on the M8 is a little difficult.
rramesh Posted January 20, 2020 Share #8  Posted January 20, 2020 I got my Elmarit M 90 2.8 calibrated to Leica M9 and 6 bit coded. I believe it was originally designed for analog.

I believe it was originally designed for analog. Indeed it is a 30 years old design according to Dennis Laney who describes it this way: Quote New lens 1989 (...) Optical performance at full aperture is excellent, right into the corners, with high contrast and resolution of fine detail, and flatness of field. It is practically free from vignetting and coma (...). D. Laney, Leica lens practice, 1993, p.
