My five-year-old granddaughter using the instant camera I bought her to photograph her sister. 50mm Noctilux f/1.2 lens, shot at f/1.2.

I've had this lens a year and I'm still on the fence about it. I'm so used to seeing sharp photos from my other Leica lenses that the soft look from this reissue lens requires me to adjust my expectations.

This is a lovely photo. I wonder if you've tried darkening the upper third a little and lightening the lower third a little. I think it would have more impact as you'd be able to see more of the exquisite detail in the lower gray tones.

I kept mine for about six weeks and got so frustrated with it I sold it. I like some degree of sharpness in my images and I wasn't getting it with that lens when used wide open. It was easily my most disappointing Leica lens purchase ever.

Erm ...sorry, but the pedant in me needs to point out that this is not, in fact, a Jeep, but a Land Rover, probably a Series II 109. A pre-1971 model 😬
