Gruß Alex Translation (this is English forum): what is the purpose of the LED above the Play button? Good question! User manual says it is a status LED (same as the one below Menu button), but I have never seen it active. Is it for some future feature?
AZach Posted December 29, 2019 Share #3 Â Posted December 29, 2019 User manual also says (p.8): " Do not open the cover/remove the memory card or the battery while the status LED is lit, which indicates memory access. Data on the card may otherwise be destroyed and camera malfunctions may occur."

The upper status LED never lights up, AFAIK.
scott kirkpatrick Posted December 29, 2019 Share #5  Posted December 29, 2019 The manual and the QuickStart guide both label the two LEDs with #23 -- status LED. I've seen the bottom one indicate red for memory access, green for external charge and blue for opening a WiFi connection. I have two cards in the SL2 at the moment, so I couldn't go further. I was expecting a blue light for the BlueTooth connection, but did not see anything when connecting with a previously paired camera. I haven't seen any light from the upper status LED. Maybe it does things when the extension is installed. scott kirkpatrick Posted January 3, 2020 Share #6  Posted January 3, 2020 Guess what -- the upper LED is not an LED but a sensor! Here's the answer from Thomas Schmidt at the customer support desk: <<< The upper LED is no LED. It is the light sensor for the brightness of the LCD and activates the light for the top display. The manual is wrong. >>> 2 5
