Videobikerdude Posted December 8, 2019 Share #1 Posted December 8, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Am I the only one that wants Leica to add the ability to see 4x5 and 1x1 crop lines in the viewfinder? I like to shoot in these aspect ratios and would like to see and option in the Q2 to select them when needed.
Advertisement Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Hi Videobikerdude, Take a look here Aspect ratio crop lines. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nicci78 Posted December 12, 2019 Share #2 Posted December 12, 2019 Leica wants you to buy an SL or SL2 for such fancy thing. 😉

Johnny D Posted January 26, 2021 Share #4 Posted January 26, 2021 I would love to see this features as well but also add in some other options as well, like a 21:9, 16:9 and 7:6 (6x7)
Guest Posted January 26, 2021 Share #5 Posted January 26, 2021 The Q would be better without any fake frame crop lines in my view. Just shoot at 28mm and crop if you mess up.
acg69 Posted January 27, 2021 Share #6 Posted January 27, 2021 I think the implementation of the digital zoom leaves a lot to be desired. I agree with Steven on the playback interface. However, if you shoot both JPG and DNG when using the digital zoom, the playback version you get is the cropped JPG; not the case if you are only shooting DNG. What really irks me is the fact that you get the frame lines a la rangefinder instead of "zooming" the image to fit the LCD according to what you are shooting, i.e. 35, 50, 75. This is just a nuisance and a remnant of the M-series user experience. It is borderline usable at 35 and definitely NOT usable at the long end of the digital zoom. I really hope that they will address this in a firmware upgrade. I am used to 35 and I am not using it because I do not like the frame lines and seeing what is left out. It should be noted that digital zooms are not implemented like this on other cameras; the X100F for example, uses the frame lines when you are looking through the actual optical rangefinder but if you use the EVF, it zooms the image to fill the frame. Much better:)
P1505 Posted January 27, 2021 Share #7 Posted January 27, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I like the frame lines and understand why they did it. But, it’s an easy menu item to add if they so desired.

Amen... I've been waiting to see this in every firmware upgrade, but nothing...

eon Posted October 22, 2021 Share #10 Posted October 22, 2021 1:1 is the one i really would like to have in the Q2. It makes such a different feel to the pictures with a square format that it is a very useful alternative.
scho Posted May 23, 2022 Share #11 Posted May 23, 2022 I also want to see at least 1:1 crop lines.
