Image resolution. 7824 x 5584 px ??

I visited my Leica pusher earlier today to hear news about SL2 availability etc and got to play with their test camera, the same one I tested a week ago.

Checking out the files this evening I noticed that they are 7824px  x 5584px ( ca. 43.7 Mp) in size and not as expected (and as they also were last week ) 8368px x 5584px ( 46.7 Mp)

In both cases we are talking about DNG + JPG files

How's that possible, I thought DNG files are always in full resolution?

No clue, frankly. What did you use to import them? Or are you looking at the file sizes actually on the card?

which software did you open the files in

When latest LR reads SL2 files it crops them a little after corrections (8424 * 5632 -> 8368 * 5584). Can you look at the real raw size of your DNG file with something like RawDigger?

Using PhotoMechanic (being using it for last 10 years or so...) to view images and ACR to RAW conversion.

I really don't get it 😵

Last week, same camera, same memory card - all files 8368 x 5584, yesterday all files shorter on the longer side -7824 x 5584

I was (among others ) also using the same 50 Summilux M lens last week. Looking at those files (50-Lux images) from the same card in PhotoMechanic, they are just different in size compared to those from yesterday...😬

Yes, applied software distortion correction. After the correction is applied, the image must be cropped slightly.

That could only happen only with electronic image stabilization, AFAIK. It should never happens with IBIS.

I opened your file in PhotoMechanic 6 and it shows 8368 x 5584 resolution. What version of PhotoMechanic are you using? Have you applied some cropping?

So you had lens corrections switched off the first time.

No, lens correction should not change the image ratio. OP says that he lost resolution in horizontal only. OP posted the image in question and everybody else is seeing it in full size. It looks like a user error.

True, it should be in two dimensions. User error, possibly yes. But what error?
