With my wife still asleep I usually spend quality time on Sunday mornings with the NYT, my m10 and my 22 year old African Grey parrot.  He is a more than willing subject and will pose for for is photo for as long as I am interested in photographing him.

I am continually amazed by the quality of the 35 summilux lens.  This photo was taken hand held 1/30, 1.4 at 800 iso.

Nice picture.

Is it the FLE summilux.

Could the same pic be taken just as well with the summicron or summarit  or an iphone?

I have the 35mm f2.4 summarit but no parrot or iphone.

I would love to see that.

I have never seen it myself but im told a blurry background can now be created on a phone.

Its not relevant to me as im not a fan of of  the bokeh  craze,i wish the parrot was sharp throughout but its still a nice photo.

So you like sharpness everywhere really? Little difference between photography and reprography then. Not my cup of tea but YMMV.

So the only good pics are wide aperture with shallow depth of field then for you?

No idea what YMMV is?

See i think the bokeh thing is so over egged that its become boring, but some pics in certain situations can benefit from that particular look.

Did i say this? This one has been shot at f/5.6 for instance but i do like mixing sharpness and blur in my pics so the OoF rendering is important for me.
YMMV (your mileage may vary) again.

I have met some people only see sharpness is pretty.  Same thing like vignette, some people hated it.  I think my pictures appear terrible to them because I love both bokeh and vignetting.  lol
