Would it hold one or more S bodies and a few S lenses?

Who represents them in USA?

Thanks,

Albert

He’s evidently in New Zealand.  Google will point you to B&H (with current sale), Focus Camera as well as direct from their site. And the usual video reviews.

Here’s a couple of videos on travel backpacks, for camera gear plus room for other light travel needs .... the Integer mentioned above, and the Peak Design 45L...

Jeff

Can say the PD's 45L is rubbish, terrible carry system, and heavy has hell with nothing in it. It looks cool and on paper having lots of useful and great feature, but on actual use:

1. the buckle/metal bits scrap agains you when you trying to put it on or off

2. the strap system and the contour of the bag is really flat and not really transferring the weight to your hips.

3. the space is huge and good for a lot of gear, but the carry system is not that good so it's not advisable to carry so many thing.... so it's a catch xx xx, I can't remember what you call it...

Anyway, I still have it but don't really like it.... I only use it for putting clothes in... and not full of gear...

When I had the S, I managed to fit the body and two lenses (35 + 70), unmounted and hoodless, into a PeakDesign Everyday Sling 5L for a minimalist lightweight set-up.  It was for me a good balance between comfort, simplicity, and convenience for travel.

5L! wow!!! Is that the one that can turn into a waist belt?

Interesting feedback.

As an aside, the term is Catch-22, taken from the novel of the same name...

I purchased direct from their website so not sure if they have international reps.

i would contact them direct with your questions and leave  it to them to confirm size suitability for S bodies and lenses. I am certain they would give an honest assessment.......possibly a bespoke model for the Leica S....who knows?

The Integer backpack with an S2 and attached 70, 24 and 120 on side, accessible through the side opening. I like that because if I am photographing, I have the S out all the time, and access though the side flap for two more lenses is convenient. 120 and 24 are the max here to add sideways. One could easy add to the bag another 180 and maybe a 100 vertically below the S2. Top compartment is a rolltop, folds down, when not in use and can carry some more stuff. The carrying straps are very good for me, albeit I am not a heavy hiker. It is the most comfortably to carry bag I have in my arsenal, when it comes to camera backpacks. BTW: The Camouflage look is not the only one they offer.

Hi Albertknappmd

Yes I have ‘the backpack’ first model bought about a year ago. The model 2 is an improvement  although absolutely no complaints about mine. Eats up my SL +90-280 + 16 -35 +.95 + laptop + charger ++ small bits of other stuff.

Very  functional...thoughtful design and the manufacturing quality is up there with the Fogg. Ive bought a few bits from them and their service  is 1st Class....a small company who are genuinely fanatical about producing camera bags built to last it seems.

Price wise they are not cheap but it’s easy to see why when you have one in hand...a bit like a Leica.

it eats up the SL combination but will it get nauseous trying to digest a true S kit???

gura gear 16L, 24L or 30L are ideal..

nothing comes close.

Albert, I know you wear out your S, so I looked.  The Gura Gear looks really interesting.  I used the F-Stop backpack in Iceland and it fit in the overhead really well, giving me room for some clothing, etc.  For day trips, shorter trips, I think I'd like to try one of these.  In the car, traveling back and forth to Charleston, I like the hard case by leica because I can pack all around it and not worry...

Be sure to note earlier discussion, as the bags changed when Tamrac entered.  I like the prior iterations (Bataflae Design).

Interesting....At what point does an ‘untrue’ S kit become a ‘true’ S kit?.......3xS bodies + 5 S Lenses or what?

Jeff is correct...

The new iteration is SMALLER and hence may not accomodate as much gear..

I found an unused OLD version and will keep as a back up.

All S bodies and all S lenses. Anything less is not a true S kit.

Ok thanks Djmay, it’s the first time I have heard the word ‘true’ applied to a camera set up. I thought Albert’s ‘ would the bag get nauseous trying to digest’ comment might be referring to a specific number of S bodies and lenses....I.e. questioning would the bag be big enough.
