ynp Posted November 11, 2019 Share #2 Posted November 11, 2019 Weather sealed? Or even underwater zoom camera, like my X-U is.

Do not bother, I would just add a proper housing to any available Leica, it would be much more effective and protective.
TMorita Posted November 25, 2019 Share #4 Posted November 25, 2019 Possible improvements: 1. Newer sensor - the newest APS-C sensors have about 1 f-stop better improvement in noise from what I see. 2. Faster focusing lens - XV seems to have heavy focus elements which are slow to move 3. Phase detect focus - for faster focus, again. 4. Image stabilization - for shooting in low-light situations handheld 5. Better hand grip 6. Thinner/lighter camera Probably more if I spent more time thinking. Toshi
nicci78 Posted November 30, 2019 Share #5 Posted November 30, 2019 Q2 with its 47MP and crop factor scheme are already a better camera than X Vario has ever been. So why bother ? I also found TL 18-56mm superior to X Vario. So one again why bother ? Macro you said? Proper macro lens is better or just screw on the awesome Elpro 52 on TL 18-56 and you are done. I agree. The X line doesn’t make sense after the CL was introduced and I cannot see any market for the general use X Vario. At the same time, in my opinion, a specialized underwater small camera with the Sony 24 mpx sensor will find some customers. But I doubt that Leica kept the tooling for the X line. Not easy to find one, though...
