My speculations on the matter :

- The supposed M11, if and when will come, must be a RANGEFINDER Leica with classic M style : otherwise, they have two other platforms  to work on to achieve a compact FF EVF-centered (simply said, a CL "a little bigger" - with M Mount, or "a little stripped down" SL- with M Mount).

- So, once again, as has been from Leica II,  Rangefinder is the central point :  they must integrate it at best,  considering the evolution of image technology which today means more Mpixels

- On the contrary, rangefinder doesn't matter with long focals, long zooms, strong macro… all fields where IBIS is a real plus

- So, I think their priority will be working on the RF, and address the stabilization issue with high ISO, which is a technology they have not to put much money directly into (it's a matter of sensor manufacturers… they act as integrators).

It has been discussed many times how they can work to improve the RF… still a big question point for M users...

As for me... of course I'd like to have a M with IBIS… should M11 have it, I'd consider seriously to buy (am now on M240 - M10 skipped) … but frankly I doubt it will have this feature.

To add, historically the IBIS of M cameras has been in the ergonomics and balance of the design - and user skill. Many experienced M shooters can easily handhold the camera + 35 mm at 1/8th or even longer shutter speeds.

Yes, but the higher effective resolution of the MM is not achieved  by a higher pixel density, so these aspects will not crop up.

Rumored 41mp, 7864 x 5200

For those that wish to skip these low density sensors, shoot an RGB filter array with the monochrome for an effective Bayer 123mp M.

With a 47mp Nikon Z7 and a wide angle lens mounted on a heavy tripod on a moderately windy day it is possible to see the difference IBIS makes between 'On' and 'Off'. Equally so hand held using M wide angle lenses where even with the utmost concentration IBIS switched 'On' is the reliable way to go, and it's not like the Z7 is a heavy or uncomfortable camera to hold steady.

The 'user skill' that Jaap brings up is only possible with lower resolution recording media which masks faults. The only constant would be that with higher pixel counts it shuffles the lowest shutter speed to hand hold and get a perfectly sharp image from 1/8th (which I've only ever thought of as bragging about a lucky shot) all the way to 1/125th.
