We finally got a chance to my older son today after 90 days. He's a residential student at a school for autism.  A needed event for my mental health.

Picturehouse Central! I am a member and sorely miss sitting in that wonderful member’s bar with a coffee.

I tried to show just how empty London's tourist areas are.  The lockdown is keeping touirists away and the locals are heading to the parks.  I cycled around the previous weekend, it was amazing to have London almost to myself.  I hope life is starting to get back to usual and I never have the opportinuty again.  I am still learning how to get more out of the camera.  I am impressed at the way it records highlights and lowlights.  The attached image (inside Covent Garden) had sharp sunlight and deep shade, I never thought I would be able to make a single image work (as opposed to bracketed) in that environment (like the one of Picturehouse Central which has huge dynamic range).  I thought I would have to blow the highlights or struggle to lift the shadows without creating 'schmush'.  (not a great composition, more a recording of fact).  I struggled to compose most pictures that day, many turned into snaps, the empty spaces were beyond my ability to resolve into images I am proud of.
