Maybe a wider lens for the S would make more sense.

My boxed, Mint condition 30mm Elmarit just came back from Leica after having a new-style Auto Focus motor fitted. Good as new now so look for it on eBay.co.uk very soon! 👍

I got all of the focal lengths, including the zoom, and recommend all of them!:). Briefly,

24 -- wide and beautiful.  Must have for landscapes/old towns
30,35,45 -- great primes, 35 the lightest/shortest/fastest of the three.  I always wonder what the other FOV would be like so had to get them all after all.
30-90 -- versatile, I have a great copy and enjoy it very much
70 -- the smallest walk-around, also got in CS for fun and use of that CS/FS lever
100 -- the fastest AF and fastest f-stop, 2.0, my low-light event lens
120 -- a great portrait and macro lens, smoothest bokeh
180 -- tele, good for the kids or lazy street photography from a cafe

But you’re missing the 120 Tilt/Shift.  I guess that’s one way to cure GAS... buy everything and then have the company stop new development.  :)

Ah, need to check out the tilt/shift!  But I'm not a professional architecture photographer, just a regular tourist enjoying mediæval European towns often and need a wide there more than a T/S.  I did quite alright with the M10 and its 24 Lux this summer, or the X1D and its 21mm earlier...  I have a very wide zoom, 15-30mm, for Pentax K1 which is absolutely amazing except its giant front element sticks out and cannot be protected by a filter.  The K1 zooms, 70-200, 24-70, and 15-30 are a fantastic combo very appealing alongside the S.

Leica seems to have stopped lens development for the S anyways, so indeed this is a rare situation when the GAS evaporates by itself and the question of composition stands on the artistic merits alone.

Now you need to set yourself up with the smallest lens that you can use on your 007. 🤔

Too bad they never got around to producing some wider T/S lenses.

I suspect that anybody who really needs such a lens is already using an Alpa or technical camera with a digital back. Besides, Leica's sensor design and SLR format impede the performance potential of an S shift lens, compared to a Rodenstock HR Digaron.

Hasselblad and PhaseOne don't offer such lenses for SLRs either, other than Hasselblad's tilt-shift adapter (which fits on the S if you have the right adapter). PhaseOne just released an Alpa-like system that uses Rodenstock HR Digaron lenses.

You missed the smiley face... I was joking with setuporg.

Is it with an adapter?  Very small indeed!

Yes, I ordered the adapter from a clever chap in Hong Kong. I ordered 2 and have  the second one listed on eBay.co.uk.

So far I’ve used the Pentax A 35mm, A 75mm and the unfairly maligned FA 33-55mm. A super small  travel set-up can be had with the 35mm & 75mm. 👍🏼

Sure, the lenses aren’t up to the quality of Leica glass, but if you’re on a budget or want smaller alternatives then these are perfect.

I have some Pentax FF glass, the limiteds and the new zooms, are you saying they'd be OK on the S?!

This is a dumb adapter so as long as the Pentax 645 lens is an "A" version manual focus lens (or has the ability to be used in manual focus mode, i.e. as on the 33-55mm) and it has an aperture ring to select the aperture then you're good to go!

Take a look here at the Pentax FA 33-55mm (in manual focus mode): https://www.dropbox.com/s/dfz1jiyyjczy4jt/Sydney Vane House demolition - Pentax 33-55mm L1000636.jpg?dl=0 Pretty good for a lightweight zoom that costs around £350 second-hand on eBay.
