A couple more from a rainy day in Oak Bluffs, MA yesterday... The first is a window of the East Chop lighthouse, and the second is a snug corner in the used and rare books store (housed in an old barn).

The book store shot was technically a little challenging since the light was both harsh and very dim—rain made the skies dark, and the compact fluorescent ceiling lights were, well, about what you’d expect.  I wanted a fair amount of DOF for that shot, too, so I ended up pumping up the ISO to 6400 and setting an aperture of f/11.  This resulted in a shutter speed of ⅛ of a second.  I decided to just hope the OIS was up to the challenge and took a dozen or so shots.  All but one were reasonably sharp.  I aligned, stacked, and averaged them to reduce the noise, and, voila it worked.  I liked the atmosphere of B&W, so processed it that way.  Strangely, the more monochrome subject I preferred in color.  Oh, well.
