Replacement eyecup for S2

Hello,

The eyecup on my S2 was disintegrated. My Leica Moscow dealer has no eyecup in stock and cannot order it from Germany for some reason. 
I wonder if anybody knows where I can order this rubber thing, preferably in Europe.

if he cannot order from germany due to political reasons, then order it from resellers/ online shops in thailand/hong kong/shanghai/malaysia etc

I don’t think that there are political reasons, the Moscow shop was taken over by Leica only this autumn and they are just beginning their operations.

Hi folks! Searching for a rubber eyecup for S006 (presumably similar among all S-bodies). Anyone knowing how/where to get one? I could send the body to Wetzlar, but it sounds like an overkill for me...

Mine also disintegrated… not really reliable plastic / rubber quality, never had that with any other camera. I will ask Leica Wetzlar about a spare part when I bring in my S006 for sensor remapping.

I bought one from the Leica Store Miami about 2 years go for $50.

Yes, I remember Miami had these for sale. Shipping cost was $200+, so I stopped the online order when I got the total cost...

I traded in my S2-p when the S3 got announced. With the torn and tired S2 eyepiece. Could not find it anywhere.

I have been in contact with Bluestar, the makers of the fleece eyepiece shown in post #2. They don't make the S eyepiece anymore, but there is one that might fit. I have ordered it and will let everyone know. Plus, it's less than half the price of the Leica part because it does not have the metal ring. You would have to remove the deteriorated rubber and reuse that part.

As promised, I contacted Bluestar, sent them the dimensions and photos of the metal eyepiece ring with the rubber removed. They recommended the GH5 Round Ultra Small #2008 in Ultrasuede. The eyecup is the kind cinematographers use. It is a bit finicky to fit on the metal ring, I found it easiest to loosely start screwing the ring to the eyepiece, then stretch the eyecup (which is ultra suede over foam) all the way over the ring, tighten the ring and stretch the cover back so it covers the outside completely. A bit complicated and difficult to explain. Here are photos of the end result. Note the eyecup covers the top part of the screen, but is very flexible if you really need to see that. It extends much further back from the eyepiece than the original. Quite comfortable, I don't have any problems seeing the entire viewfinder as well as the display at the bottom. Don't know how this works with eyeglasses. Let's see how long it stays put.
