Advertisement Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 Hi m9photo, Take a look here 1st Sigma Full frame L mount camera. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted October 11, 2019 Share #2  Posted October 11, 2019 (edited) This was announced earlier in the year and has a thread about it. A few more details trickled out in September. The key missing info are price and actual IQ in action. This article seems a delayed reaction to the taster details released in September. Edit. I read your link too quickly - there is new info here: a price of $1899. I see elsewhere the UK price will be £1999 (WTF???), and it will start shipping on 25 October. The last thing I bought appeared 2 days after ordering ..... In fact ordering from abroad is often quicker than the UK ...... I decided the other weekend I fancied an SL 50/2 before that 'B' business complicated things. Despite there allegedly being no stock anywhere and nothing from Leica till November, with a few hours of internet searching I located one in Amsterdam, ordered it, paid for it by midday, and it was delivered the following morning. Never has spending money been so easy ..... Edited October 11, 2019 by thighslapper
LocalHero1953 Posted October 11, 2019 Share #4  Posted October 11, 2019 Digging a bit deeper: euro 1999. So buying from Europe would be cheaper as well. Looks like Brexit has been priced in.😣
Viv Posted October 11, 2019 Share #5 Â Posted October 11, 2019 No mechanical shutter. No viewfinder. No sale.
LocalHero1953 Posted October 11, 2019 Share #6 Â Posted October 11, 2019 I suspect Sigma knows its market. It's a video camera that can take stills. The SL/S1R are still cameras that can take videos. Their main competitor will be something like the BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera.
tom.w.bn Posted October 11, 2019 Share #7 Â Posted October 11, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Let's wait how the sensor performs. I'm so spoilt by the quality of the sensor in the Panasonic S1 cameras.
BernardC Posted October 11, 2019 Share #8 Â Posted October 11, 2019 I think it will be a great video camera that doubles as a tiny walkaround shooter. I hope the sensor likes M lenses.
