I've never tried it. This forum is bad for GAS... just ordered the Elpro 52 as I've wanted it for a long time. If you are ever in norther California you are welcome to try it with your Lux 28 to compare with a normal macro adapter. 1
Advertisement Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Hi Crem, Take a look here Summilux M 28/1.4 vs. Summilux Q 28/1.7 - which do you like better and why?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
DenverSteve Posted December 7, 2022 Share #62  Posted December 7, 2022 (edited) I'm late to this, and dredging up probably a pointless discussion, but that's why we're here, so here goes. I recently received my new Q2 so I previously had no comparison. The question posed originally was about the two 28mm Summilux Asph. lenses and posed to those who own and shoot both. Let's compare the lenses. The Summilux-M 28mm is a world-class lens that has gained a strong following since its release (2015) while the Summilux 28 Q lens is much newer and a tiny-bit slower. They both render equally to me. I'm a photographer, not a pixel-peeper who sits in a room looking at 200% enlargements. Both lenses are equal. That said - The M lens is almost $8000 while the Q2 kit is almost $6000 - $2000 is a big difference. You can buy a Q2 and have a dedicated CAMERA SYSTEM, to augment your M kit and save 25%. That's not an insignificant fact. For example, if you own a M11 and like to carry it with a 50mm or 75mm or 35mm lens, you can have an entire camera/lens combination $2000 cheaper than buying a 'lux 28 1.4 - and having to change lenses in the rain, dust, weather, dark.... ADD to that the Summilux 28 Q "kit" has built-in Macro, plus the money saved ($2000) AND another body (Q2) with equal best-in-class IQ - and, to me, the Q2 is a hands-down winner.  With the Q2 you don't need to be able to move your lens to any CL, M, S... body. You can have any of your other lenses on your M, CL.... body AND have the Q2 ready in a second without having to change lenses quickly. No question, hands down - the Q2 wins all day, every day. Edited December 7, 2022 by DenverSteve
