I would prefer a moderately dark mode than a full on too harsh white on black. I'm not too keen on black on white either; it's too harsh on the eyes.

Hello Everybody,

Having a dark interface on the Forum will make everything (Possibly including the Text.) more gloomy & the World is gloomy enough as it is. The World is better off with more Sunshine & Brightness & does markedly better without Victorian Gloomishness. Which a darker interface would reinforce.

Better Bright & Shiny.

Mary Poppins & Pollyanna

Dear Mary Poppins and Pollyanna,

Since you're apparently surrounded by Victorian Gloom, you really should attend a performance of the musical Hair and ...

"Le-e-et the sun shine,

Le-e-et the sunshine in,

Sunsh-i-i-ine in."

Pete.

if it’s not relevant, ignore it.

I understand. Sorry, I didn't mean that your opinion is irrelevant, just that there is a big difference between the OS mode and how a designer can choose to make one or indeed many dark modes that users could choose from if they desire.

Hello Pete,

Actually, I already saw it. In 1969.

There is enough Victorian "doom & gloom" out there in the World without people purposefully making more of it. The drive to return to the darkness of the Past does not make the World a better place. It is better to see where you are going & Brighten the World around you.

Best Regards,

Mary Poppins & Pollyanna
