jaapv Posted October 1, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Many sites offer the choice of a dark interface. I quite like it and it is always my choice. Maybe something for our forum as well?

AndreasG Posted October 1, 2019 Share #4 Posted October 1, 2019 Though it might save energy on a portable device, I prefer black writing on a bright surface.

If I am very interested in the content I will change the CSS so I can read it. 1
ianman Posted October 1, 2019 Share #7 Posted October 1, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would prefer a moderately dark mode than a full on too harsh white on black. I'm not too keen on black on white either; it's too harsh on the eyes. Welcome, dear visitor! farnz Posted October 1, 2019 Share #8 Posted October 1, 2019 I agree but it would need to be a selectable option, not a 'one size fits all' solution. Pete.

For my work, mostly in a text editor, I use a different theme depending on ambient light.
andybarton Posted October 1, 2019 Share #10 Posted October 1, 2019 The dark interface on my iOS13 iPhone lasted about 30 minutes before I turned it off. I do however, have a dark interface on my Desktop Mac

andybarton Posted October 1, 2019 Share #12 Posted October 1, 2019 No. That’s down to the website designer not the OS

andybarton Posted October 1, 2019 Share #14 Posted October 1, 2019 Because I like it on the Mac and don’t like it on an iPhone. if it’s not relevant, ignore it.
Michael Geschlecht Posted October 1, 2019 Share #15 Posted October 1, 2019 Hello Everybody, Having a dark interface on the Forum will make everything (Possibly including the Text.) more gloomy & the World is gloomy enough as it is. The World is better off with more Sunshine & Brightness & does markedly better without Victorian Gloomishness. Which a darker interface would reinforce. Better Bright & Shiny. Best Regards, Mary Poppins & Pollyanna

I understand. Sorry, I didn't mean that your opinion is irrelevant, just that there is a big difference between the OS mode and how a designer can choose to make one or indeed many dark modes that users could choose from if they desire. There is enough Victorian "doom & gloom" out there in the World without people purposefully making more of it. The drive to return to the darkness of the Past does not make the World a better place. It is better to see where you are going & Brighten the World around you. Best Regards, Mary Poppins & Pollyanna
