Tested briefly.  After a couple of "Unable to join" messages, the ipad using ipad OS 13.1.2 connected to the SL with current firmware.  I then took a test photo using the FOTOS remote controls.  This was with an M lense so there was no control of aperture, shutter, ISO.  I also attempted to download a small jpeg from the camera to the iPad but it seemed to be taking a long time and had to cancel the operation and get on with the morning's activities.

HTH a bit

Wonderful. I tend to be patient with Leica, but I fail to understand their sloppy handling of software development. It is going on for years now. Crazy defects, incompatible software, no message to owners of the M10D that they should wait with the iOS update, in case the ever want to change the camera parameters again ...

Sorry for the rant. I just feel what they do with Fotos is not good enough.

The Fotos app is working for me under 13.1.2 (albeit with an M10). I did have a lot of problems/disconnections initially under 13/13.1 but I deleted the app and re-downloaded it. I also removed the paired cameras and re-added them via the QR codes. Since then, all is well.

I understand your frustration. So many defects with Fotos. No GEolocation when using camera  normally - this for a camera aimed at travel photography. Focus limitations when using remote FOTOS app control of camera especially frustrate me.

It is my hope that Leica’s new facility in California will push along their abilities when it comes to software.

I suppose the center may have the narrow focus of “ computational imaging”  and have no effect on such things as “retail software”.  ...but maybe?

I was very cross when Leica for no apparent reason, deleted computer (not pad) browser wifi access on the SL and CL and gave out that we no longer needed it, with the "wonderful"  Fotos app. Sorry Leica - wrong again. Give us back the very useful browser access and you can then dump the dreadful c**p Fotos app, as far as I  am concerned. It has never worked properly and even if it did, I can only see very very occasional need for it. The connect via existing network has never worked at all (as Leica UK admitted) and to have to connect via a dedicated wifi network is primitive in the extreme. It was the sort of thing Olympus was doing 7 or  8 years ago.

Responding to several previous posts...

I just checked and with Fotos 1.3.2 on IOS13, I can connect to my M10-D.  Also with Android Fotos 2.0 (just updated 10/15).  Connection takes a while because my camera happens to have 2000 images on its SD card, and it takes Fotos a while to digest them.  With the Android app, the app when I launched it, asked whether it could have access to my location, so I was thinking it might be ready to transfer geolocation to the M10-D, but that did not happen.  Just time and date.  I exercise the remote functions with both versions of the app  Didn't try file uploads.

BTW, geolocation from the app comes when you have both low energy Bluetooth and Wifi (as in the Q2 and possibly the SL2).  It makes more sense since the connection is not such a power hog, and then the WiFi is turned on and off by the BlueTooth connection only when needed.  BUT, with both Fotos apps, if you turn off the app and shut down the phone, the wifi in the camera stays on.  The green light on the back of the M10-D no longer blinks but the signal is visible to other phones, so something is still on and consuming power.  I can see this with the 10-D, which has an external switch for the WiFi that you should be attending to, but with an M10 or an SL/CL, this ought to be monitored to save power.

What android phone are you getting Fotos 2.0 on? After reading your post I checked Play Store, but the update only brings me to v1.3.4. It could be that my Huawei's android skin limits updates until they are checked/adapted for this phone.

V2.0 sounds like a major update.
