Is Leica trying to shoo the last few Monochrom 246 cameras out of dealer's display cases before the arrival of the Monochrom M10? Or is this just an exercise in staving off boredom until the M-M10 arrives? Edited September 17, 2019 by Herr Barnack

Timmyjoe Posted September 17, 2019 Share #3 Posted September 17, 2019 I think they're just trying to make a buck. I see the camera is being introduced at the same time as Fender is introducing a Strat with the same wrap around images as the camera. The Strat is going for $13,000. So for a mere $28,000 you can be the ultimate Andy Summers fan. Best, -Tim

I think it's simple marketing - make only enough to ensure demand is equal to, or greater than, supply. There are a limited number of collectors who will pay over the top, so know your market. The only limited edition I would have bought is the Your Mark Monochrom, but sadly not available in the UK and far too expensive to import from the USA with the current FX rate plus import duties, VAT etc.
