Advertisement Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 Hi ravinj, Take a look here Took the plunge - Q2 as ‘only’ camera. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
newtoleica Posted March 17, 2021 Share #42 Posted March 17, 2021 I have a niche for a small full frame AF one lens digital camera. Its been variously filled over the years by: An Olympus E400 +17.5/2.8 A Sony RX1R A Sony A7R with an Olympus OM 40mm f2 and now a Q2 Whatever comes and goes in the rest of my kit (My Olympus OM film gear being a constant), I will always want a 'quick simple' camera. The rest is currently some M bodies and lenses.

Ronaldraw Posted April 17, 2021 Share #46 Posted April 17, 2021 (edited) I have a Nikon Z6 with 35mm and 85mm Lens and a Richo III. Most of the time I wear the Rico because its practical. Now I am considering to buy Q2 and selling my Nikon and lenses because I dont touch it. I used the 85mm one time by the way. Should I buy the Q2 and selling the Nikon? 🤔 Edited April 17, 2021 by Ronaldraw
PhotoCruiser Posted April 17, 2021 Share #47 Posted April 17, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I actually have a Nikon D800 with Sigma 15mm, Nikos 24-70, 70-200, 105mm macro (and a Panasonic LX100 for underwater photography) I don't use them from when I bought the Q and then the Q2, sometimes I would like to have the 1-5mm micro with me for serious macro work, but hauling everything around the world makes anymore no sense to me. Using the Q2 as only camera is doable, but the limits must be known: 1° limited macro function (but better than expected) 2° 28mm can bee too wide and not everyone is happy with cropping 3° wildlife is limited by the may 75mm focal length All the above can be solved, but quality would never be as using the right focal length lens!< so all depend on what kind of photography one is doing, a fixed lens camera has her limits + low weight - locked focal length Chris

For my use case, it also pairs well with SL series, because of the same battery/charger - something that seems trivial, but comes in handy while traveling. Q2 + SL2 with SL 90. My ideal kit. Now only if I could travel again. My dream team, but not my use with a 90 or better 105mm lens with macro function (but not sure if Leica offers a lens like that). Mondelman Posted April 23, 2021 Share #50 Posted April 23, 2021 Since Q2 arrived, my EOS-R + 28-70/2.0 is resting at home... Except in low, very low light, Q2 is "my camera". Cheers!

Because the ease of carrying Q2 with no compromise IQ trumps a lot of "downsides". Obviously, if one needs to shoot wildlife at 400MM, Q2 may not fit the bill
