If you are worried about it being too clinical at any aperture employ your post processing skills. You can't make a lenses character more clinical than it's design allows, but you can make the image it produces less clinical.

Yes, I am aware of various techniques, e.g. reducing structure/detail, adding glow, etc. I was simply inquiring about the lens’s rendering characteristics. As it happens, I purchased a new copy of the Nokton 50 f1.2, and without a doubt, it is a fantastic lens. Between f1.5 and 1.7, it has a lovely glow. From f2 and up, it is very sharp, but still maintains depth rendering, I.e. it is not flat or clinical. I am very impressed that Voigtlander was able to produce such an extraordinary lens that they sell at such a reasonable price.
