setuporg Posted June 11, 2019 Share #1 Posted June 11, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's amazing how the BP-SCL4 batteries are out of stock absolutely everywhere. Except for a few annoying speculators marking them up from an already inflated $250 to $325 and even $338. Similar folks mark up the Q2 by $400-600. I wish Leica disallows them as dealers. Anyhow if you want to share in a lamentation about the lack of the spare batteries, here it is!:)
Advertisement Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Hi setuporg, Take a look here Absolutely no spare Q2 batteries!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Leica Guy Posted June 11, 2019 Share #2 Posted June 11, 2019 I would order from B&H and when they receive shipment you’ll get one.
Shuttermuse Posted June 11, 2019 Share #3 Posted June 11, 2019 It’s ridiculous that there are no batteries in the US or Europe. Part of the reason for using an existing battery is to make it easier to manage inventory levels. With the Q2 being sold out for months surely they could have expected this?
sturkel Posted June 11, 2019 Share #4 Posted June 11, 2019 point well made. I was lucky enough to find one at Samy's on the west coast and one at my local Leica dealer that sold me the camera in April. Since there are no third party options ( not even sure why not), you are on another wait list.
Leica Guy Posted June 11, 2019 Share #5 Posted June 11, 2019 I found one at Camera West, Rancho Mirage. Early May. I suspect the success of the Q2 is exceeding expected demand. I’d order from B&H and it’ll show up when it shows up. The Q2 battery performance is much improved over the Q so its certainly workable until you get a spare. Buy a Nitecore charger so its easy to charge from a USB plug. 3

tnturnerx1 Posted June 12, 2019 Share #7 Posted June 12, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I ordered from BH Photo, and it was backordered 2 months almost, but i got it. However, I'm still waiting for my Q2 (which I ordered elsewhere)...
Southern Posted June 12, 2019 Share #8 Posted June 12, 2019 Hi - I have had my Q2 since April and requested a second battery but was told none available in Australia. I wanted a spare prior to going to Japan a week after receiving my Q2. In Japan I went to the Osaka Leica store in the department store and after much google translation was able to purchase one but as I did not have my passport with me I had to pay the Tax. I put the purchase on the "card". In Australia the cost is $215 - the total charge on my credit statement with exchange rates etc came to $246.
jimbn Posted June 12, 2019 Share #9 Posted June 12, 2019 My SCL-4 battery ordered in March after purchasing my Q2 arrived May 30. The battery has production date code JDSA. Elsewhere in this forum there is a message about the meaning of this code, but I cannot find it again. My order for a third battery at Leica Store Hamburg is still out. Leica Store Berlin has an expected delivery date in early July.
jmc014 Posted June 12, 2019 Share #10 Posted June 12, 2019 I'm glad I purchased a spare battery when I bought my Q2. The fact that there is a gaping hole at the bottom of the camera while the battery is charging really bugged me...
