topoxforddoc Posted July 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) More shots from yesterday. Floods have receded several feet. The bridge that I took these from was under water a few days ago. The rectangular blockhouse building in the first picture is the Mythe water pumping station that was flooded causing the water shortages for 350,000 of us. spylaw4 Posted July 28, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 28, 2007 Nice shots Charlie, but could do with a bit of air between them! I think #2 is my favourite.
billh Posted July 28, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 28, 2007 Thanks Charlie. I have friends in Oxford, and it is interesting to see the damage there. Do you know what kind of speakers these are? The sound in the facility were they were recording was very good - reputedly the best in the Washington, D.C. area - but when we went to the room with the recording equipment and listed there, the sound was unbelievable. This is probably old hat to you, but I could not believe it.
blovitch Posted July 28, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 28, 2007 Hello, I recognise some of that water.....I think its the same stuff that burst into my house around 01:00 last Saturday, rising rapidly and hanging around for a couple of days. My enthusiam for flood photography evapourated alot quicker than the water ( and the unpleasant smell that lingers a week later) I tasked my daughter with doing all the insurance photography, I couldnt bring myself to take the cameras out. If anyone has read Douglas Adams they will understand that this week I have had a spell in the Total Perspective Vortex, and it has not been pleasant.
