topoxforddoc Posted July 27, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 27, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Life's not been easy in Gloucestershire the last week. At least I have a water-free house and electricity. The water level has dropped by several feet from its peak and so I managed to venture into Tewkesbury at last. You have to admire the Norman surveyors who built this Abbey in 1102 on the only bit that never floods! The water that you see is in fact a playing field and recreation ground! stuny Posted July 27, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 27, 2007 Charlie - A lovely scene which belies the fact that much suffering is represented here. Excellent composition and tonal range.
Chuckcars Posted July 28, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 28, 2007 Wow, I would have thought it a lake and an island. Excellent composition and capture.
spylaw4 Posted July 28, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 28, 2007 Superb shot, although I believe that the Abbey did in act suffer some flooding.
topoxforddoc Posted July 28, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted July 28, 2007 Superb shot, although I believe that the Abbey did in act suffer some flooding. Brian, a little got into the North Door, but the Abbey was essentially ok unlike the rest of Tewkesbury. Yesterday, almost every building had wet carpets, sofas etc outside. More rain ofrecast for tonight! Charlie
spylaw4 Posted July 28, 2007 Share #6 Posted July 28, 2007 Glad to hear that Charlie; some concern was expressed on one of the organ forums as parts of the Grove (or is it the Milton) organ are right on the floor.
