M11+Noctilux 0.95/50. This one was originally shot in landscape mode, I should have shot this vertically on second thought.

M11+Noctilux 0.95. The chemist around the corner had a big green sign, there was just one thing left to complete the picture.

M11+Noctilux 0.95. All it takes to ward off evil are seven green chillies and a lemon strung up outside your shop.

Giving the Reissued 50 1.2 a second chance...I sold my first copy (early batch 2021), but I missed it and I repurchased it recently.

Maybe it's just me (or sample variations?)

but I found my second copy a bit sharper in the center when wide open. Shot with SL2.

The 50/1.2 Noctilux is a remake of the 1966 lens and 'sharpness' at the centre is not its strength so it's perhaps not surprising that you were disappointed.

Pete.

M11 + 50 1.2

I need to use this lens more often and learn to appreciate it's characteristics, the long focus throw and 1m min focus distance always makes me reach for the 50 lux instead.

I find even the lux at 1.4 or 2.0 is often too wide opened when a close portrait should have eyes AND Nosetip in focus. You will probably have to use the aperture ring a little more often...
Imagine you have to shoot a portrait of a longfaced animal like a greyhound or horse… 😃
