This reduces minimum focus distance (on my SL2-S) with the Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 to 40cm. It also preserves infinity focus, via helicoid adjustment. The ring allows for a seamless adjustment, e.g. to moving it to a position that allows for a focusing range from 0.5 to 4m (estimated) - very practical e.g. for people photography where the extremes are not needed; for food photography = move to the close range setting, conversely for landscape move to 'original focus range'. Examples (first try) from my morning walk today. All at f/0.95. Welcome, dear visitor!
