^ I miss my 1.0. Foolishly sold it years ago after I got the 0.95. I now have the 1.2 reissue and the 0.95, will probably just bite the bullet and reacquire the 1.0 to complete my Noctilux trifecta…

I did think looking at your 0.95 vs 1.2 shots that the f 1.0 might in fact turn out to be a kind of "Goldilocks" version of the Noctilux

I had 2 copies of the 0.95 (black then silver) and while I had the second I picked up a 6-bit coded and  "digitally-calibrated" version of the f1.0. v 3 (the last type with the separate hood) and ended up just keeping this version.

I felt - and I know this is subjective - that the f0.95 ended up seeming often like a turbo-charged version of the 50 Lux ASPH (of which I have a couple of versions - and love) whereas the  f1.0 was a different animal altogether.

I put myself on the list with Josh at Leica Miami for the f1.2 but I'm more and more inclined from the posted images to stick to the f1.0

Obviously as they say here YMMV.

Yes @farnz it's entirely your fault that I had to buy one based in particular on the many London nightlife images you have posted here...

  I hope you've had great enjoyment from it, Nigel, and I'm flattered that you liked my pictures, particularly if they've helped you acquire something you otherwise might not and that has brought you pleasure.

Pete.

TBH It mainly made me miss the world of the night bus from Trafalgar Square of my long-lost club-going youth.

You have sometimes captured a kind-of very positive Martin Parr-esque as-it-were view of the London after-hours scene.

There isn't really an NYC equivalent location - and I'm so boring now that when I'm back in London I usually get an Uber home from Soho / the Groucho Club ... rather than the "lively" N7 😟

And 1.0 from the past… I actually like the 1.2 much more than I thought I would. I bought it on a whim, was just browsing and one retailer happen to have it in stock, so I pulled the trigger to try it out. So far I think I’m going to keep it, even though I’m not really a 50mm guy.

28mm is my workhorse, but I just realized that between the 0.95, 50/1.2 reissue and SL 50/2 APO, I suddenly have 3 50mm lenses…

Not a perfect shot though but one of the first images with the combination S1R + Noctilux-M 1:1/50. A souvenir of our last Scotland visit. The whisky is still unopened and is waiting for the next big event e.g., the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. Cheers.

Nothing at all special - just celebrating the return of my F1.0 after fourteen months away. Focus is on the glass.

People say that the f1 Noctilux works well with the M9. That is my experience too.

This is one of the first shots I made with my new (to me) f1. Roses in the evening light in the oak panelled dining room.
