mcgrattan Posted April 26, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 26, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought an M8 off Ebay. I've never encountered any camera's with extremely dirty sensors so I'm looking for some advice on whether this might be more serious than just dirt. I've exaggerated the editing to show what I'm talking about in greater detail. Should I return it to the seller, or get him to pay for a good cleaning? Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Hi mcgrattan, Take a look here DIrty Sensor or more serious?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted April 26, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 26, 2019 That is dust and M8 sensors do not corrode. One wet clean, 5 minutes DIY, will clear it. See the sensor cleaning post in the FAQ.

andrea-i Posted April 29, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 29, 2019 Yes, definitely dust and don't even worry if it won't completely clean, I tried using the proper wet sticks and some dust was just stuck there, then had my M8 serviced by leica and magically every spot was gone.
