DIrty Sensor or more serious?

Recommended Posts

I bought an M8 off Ebay.  I've never encountered any camera's with extremely dirty sensors so I'm looking for some advice on whether this might be more serious than just dirt.  I've exaggerated the editing to show what I'm talking about in greater detail.  Should I return it to the seller, or get him to pay for a good cleaning?

That is dust and M8 sensors do not corrode. One wet clean, 5 minutes DIY, will clear it. See the sensor cleaning post in the FAQ.

Thank you so much for the quick reply!

Yes, definitely dust and don't even worry if it won't completely clean, I tried using the proper wet sticks and some dust was just stuck there, then had my M8 serviced by leica and magically every spot was gone.

I find a wet clean and then use a eyelead sensor cleaner will remove  all debris from the sensor, hope this helps.
