Stephen_C Posted April 21, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 21, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been experimenting a little with picture data display (i.e., pressing the centre button on the back of the camera to change what is displayed in the EVF and on the LCD). I have discovered that on any occasion when the bottom line of data is displayed (ignoring video mode): the LCD will not display the bottom of the picture; the EVF does display the bottom of the picture so you can, in that case, frame accurately through the EVF but not when using the LCD. You might ask why I simply don't choose to have no information displayed when I need to frame using the LCD (e.g., when the viewfinder is not easily accessible). In that case you cannot have the horizon grid line displayed so it's quite difficult to ensure the camera is level. I appreciate this may be of little consequence to street photographers but as I do primarliy landscape work (and not invariably with a tripod) it is significant for me. I thought it might be of interest to others in any event. Stephen

That allows EVF to add information above and below the image without cropping (and add black bars on the top/bottom when no info is displayed). LCD needs to overlay the information, which can be confusing when framing. The overlay is slightly transparent, but it may be better if we could adjust the transparency so that we are more aware of the hidden view.

Very much so...and I acknowledge what you said about the aspect ratios. Stephen
