kyeo Posted April 5, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all, I bought a second memory card for my Leica Q, a Sandisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-I 128Gb 95Mb/s card. But my surprise has been that I received the same card with the 170Mb/s speed. Can anyone tell me if this card is valid for the Leica Q? Thanks in advance. Advertisement Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Hi kyeo, Take a look here Sandisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-I 128Gb 170Mb/s card valid for the Leica Q?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
FHPdoc Posted April 5, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 5, 2019 (edited) I am not at all an SD card expert, but the Q2 is compatible with both UHS-I and UHS-II cards at whatever speed the card indicates. The Q, I'm afraid, is only compatible with UHS-I. UHS-IIs will work, but not at the speed indicated. The speed your new card states might indicate it's a UHS-II card. Forgive me if you already know this, but are there two rows of contacts on the back of the card or is there just one? Two rows make it a UHS-II card capable of the higher speeds. Hopefully those smarter than I on these kinds of things will chime in at this point... Good luck and welcome to the forum! Stephen_C Posted April 5, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2019 There's no reason at all why it shouldn't work in the Leica Q—and read and write speeds will be a little faster than the original specification you mentioned. Stephen
