Mark Cha Posted April 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 4, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) hi recently i purchased summilux 28mm f1.4 to couple with my m240. but i cant get the exif data when i have the camera automatically detecting the lens and also i cant find the lens in the list when i choose manual mode. i found that the firmware is up to date so im thinking its not a matter of it. does anyone experience the same situation? any advice would be so much appreciated in line with this issue. Advertisement Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Hi Mark Cha, Take a look here summilux 28mm f1.4 on m240. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mmradman Posted April 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 4, 2019 Can you M240 read other coded lenses OK? One likely problem 6-bit reader probably needs cleaning. In the camera menu you will not find lens in the manual selection list as lens was 6-bit from day one. 6-bit coding started with M8 in 2006, any lens manufactured before could be without 6-bit pits, Summilux 28 is very recent, launched in 2015. Kwesi Posted April 4, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 4, 2019 Does the lens info show up when you press "info" on the back of the camera?

mmradman Posted April 5, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 5, 2019 Perhaps you need to check your setting in the main menu and set lens detection to Auto. If setting is Off or Manual camera will not recognise the lens.
steamboat Posted April 6, 2019 Share #6 Posted April 6, 2019 When I bought my M8.2 - new, just out - the lens detector did not work. Leica said to return it immediately to the seller and I received another camera. Did you just buy your M240 new?
dugby Posted April 8, 2019 Share #7 Posted April 8, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) What is the firmware version displayed in the M240 menu ?
Bohns Posted May 9, 2019 Share #8 Posted May 9, 2019 Another possibility is just that the Summilux 28 may have been removed from the list of M lenses in the menu. You can choose and limit the lenses you own from the full list of M lenses which has been entered per default in the software. Did you select your lenses in the past and not remember it ?
