Some lovely examples but all of you need to stop it...are you trying to make me homeless? ;)

 

Carsten, that shot (and the ones you have previously posted with it) is incredible. I have a good friend who is a painter who will rush out and buy an M8 and noctilux the minute he sees it!

first one is horribly soft/non-focused

not a good picture at all imo

 

Given that it's a Noctilux wide open and the focus is definitely on the eye of the dog I'm not sure that you can say that it's horribly soft/non-focused at all. It may not be to your aesthetic taste but technically it is showing what it says.
