vkdev Posted April 27, 2019 Author Share #21 Posted April 27, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, Jul, I think that it will work, but it's a crutch. I can move write-lock switcher on my sd card, or use any solutions to prevent creating the hidden files, but for what?... On my sony A7, Olympus etc, always works fine. Except Leica I will write a letter to Leica to help me solve my problem. Crutches are not an solution. Sorry for such a long topic. I want to help find a solution if other people have similar problems.

Paulus Posted April 27, 2019 Share #22 Posted April 27, 2019 vor 13 Stunden schrieb marchyman: As vkdev said, the Mac finder leaves a "hidden" file (.DS_Store) in folders to keep track of state. That's what lets finder remember how you want to view a particular folder, for example, when opening the folder in the future. Perhaps this is causing issues with Leica. SD cards may also contain the hidden .Trashes folder. I'd disagree that these files "spoil" the file system. While I use a Mac I never open SD cards using the finder and have not had a single issue. I'm an old computer guy who often uses the command line and the underlying UNIX environment in macOS to manage getting images off of SD cards, bypassing the Finder. I don't understand. if I import to Lightroom, does this happen also? I never open a file because I directly import to Lightroom, or does this happen even then? jaapv Posted April 27, 2019 Share #23 Posted April 27, 2019 .ds files are little metadata files that are appended to any folder that is seen by Finder. They contain the location of icons, background colours, etc. A bit like thumb.db in Windows. They may become visible when moving a file between Mac and Windows. To disable, write this command in terminal: defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true To remove : https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/remove-ds-store-files-mac.html The simplest solution is to run "CleanMyMac " regularly which I do for multiple reasons. If not then don't worry about it.
