It is also encouraging to hear many happy ending stories. But I am still struggling to justify the cost. Not mean to against the repair, but I wonder if the cost is similar to a 2nd hand FZ1000, should I do it. (yeah, I know, only I can answer the question). It may make sense if the purpose is to keep this good old friend in healthy condition, regardless how often I am going to use it. I agree "Thanks, Corson, for bringing back the life of such legendary camera." The Digilux 2 was a very good camera indeed.

jasper stehouwer Posted October 2, 2023 Share #43  Posted October 2, 2023 Hello there, my name is jasper and i bought a broken d2 today for 30 bucks( i couldn't resist) anyone who has found a place to buy  Panasonic DMC-LC1 sensors? Im afraid that soldering my d2 will break it.
jrethorst Posted October 26, 2023 Share #44 Â Posted October 26, 2023 You could get them on eBay at one point. Also, a fairly popular camera from Sony used them. I don't remember the model number, but that should be on the web somewhere, and if you find one of those cameras on eBay you could dig the sensor out of it. marklightfoot Posted April 20 Share #45 Â Posted April 20 I have a lovely condition Digilux 2 with signs of sensor failure. I managed to get hold of a working Sony F717 and I've extracted the sensor without any issues by using the guide linked on this thread. (Copying the link here for reference). Does anyone know if there's a video or guide to swapping in the CCD (de-solder/ re-soldering etc). I'm aware of the guide to dismantling the Panasonic LC-1 but I'd be interested to know if anyone has actually documented the Leica 'surgery' either in photos or a video! Most modern P&S are much better than DL2. Yes, I mean the tiny sensor, not even1" or M43. I have Lumix Zs40, not only it has much wide range of FL, but also many extra features. And ZS40 is not even any glorier than many otgyher alternatives. Just let DL2 RIP. It has enjoyed enough glory, Now move on.
