jdlaing Posted February 18, 2019 Share #8 Posted February 18, 2019 (edited) Here’s what I would suggest. Format the card in a computer with SD Formatter. Place the card back in the camera and format it with the camera. Thanked a few shots and try the delete button again. okay.......cancel that. I see you have worked it out. jdlaing Posted February 18, 2019 Share #11 Posted February 18, 2019 On the upside ... you didn’t accidentally delete an image you wanted to keep.
gvaneijk Posted February 18, 2019 Author Share #12 Posted February 18, 2019 TRUE... there is always an upside.

This is the danger of in-camera deletion! In my experience much better to keep everything on the card, view the contents on your computer, and delete from there. Yes, this does mean carrying extra cards in case the one in the camera gets full. On a related subject, I've always found it easier to copy the files from the card to the computer and import into Lightroom from there; importing direct from the card was i) slower and ii) it was not always certain to transfer every image. After the files have been copied onto the computer and imported, I delete the files from the card on the computer and re-format the card in the camera before use. Exodies Posted February 19, 2019 Share #15 Posted February 19, 2019 Deleting the files on the card before formatting it in camera is unnecessary and reduces the life of the card.
gvaneijk Posted February 19, 2019 Author Share #16 Posted February 19, 2019 Okay, I'll try that - Thanks.
Pelu2010 Posted November 6, 2024 Share #17 Posted November 6, 2024 Hey I hope this is solved- If not: 1. Press Delete 2. SIngle ? If Single > press Set 3. If you need to delete all images > delete > all > set > with the wheel "yes" > set Very save but a little complicated. Cheers Peter
