estudiog Posted January 11, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Love the seamless transition, I went for the 262 because I wanted a stills only body. The shutter is soooo quite on this camera compared to the M8, will take getting used too. My only thing now is, should I keep the M8 or sell it... I can keep as a piece of Leica history (first digital M body)... IDK New here by the way, Greetings to everyone!
Advertisement Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Hi estudiog, Take a look here Coming from a M8 to M typ 262. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted January 11, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 11, 2019 And a warm welcome! Keep the M8; it is still a very capable camera, eminently suited as a backup, or for a two-camera/two lens setup. The photographic value is far higher than the monetary one.
Lux50 Posted January 11, 2019 Share #3 Posted January 11, 2019 Jaap could not have said it better. Keep your M8!
Gregm61 Posted January 11, 2019 Share #4 Posted January 11, 2019 (edited) Love my M262. Recently picked up an MP240 and M246 to shoot against it and have sent both back. The ‘262 is a great, lightweight, smooth-shooting camera and excellent DNG file quality. Edited January 11, 2019 by Gregm61
microview Posted January 12, 2019 Share #5 Posted January 12, 2019 I went back to an M262 and sold my M10 – I'm much happier with the 262 interface, menus etc, sacrificing ability to rearrange the latter and accepting loss of image quality at high ISO settings. Ko.Fe. Posted January 12, 2019 Share #6 Posted January 12, 2019 Someone else might looking for entry level digital M. It is up to you...
JOCO34 Posted January 13, 2019 Share #7 Posted January 13, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I too went from an M8 to a M240. Love both cameras and I deceided long ago after selling a much loved M4-P that I only buy Leicas and never sell them. They are like parts of my family and the functionality has no value as compared to the memories and work produced by them.

I traded one collector lens which turned out to be unsatisfactory transaction so I learned my lesson. Think about it. On the forums photographers *only* lament the Leica equipment they've sold. I've never heard anybody complain about equipment they kept. My resources have always been limited so I don't have drawers and drawers of equipment. I only buy equipment I'm going to use. OT -- I went from an M8.2 to an M-P typ 240. It was an easy transition. The 240 is a winner.
glacierparkmagazine Posted January 22, 2019 Share #9 Posted January 22, 2019 I hate the WB balance on top. Should have been the play button. Other than that, the 262 is a solid camera.
