mikozia Posted January 10, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just dug out my old V-Lux 1 and tried to compare to the new LF1000. Better low light performance but I still like the color of the CCD of my V-Lux1. It was raining everyday in the Pacific NW. When the weather gets better, I'll try to test the new V-Lux typ 114 against my old trusty V-Lux1. "Artistic" shot (motion blur).😉 Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Hi mikozia, Take a look here V-Lux. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted January 10, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 10, 2019 Rain streaks. Light trails. Impressive and creative, regardless of camera used.
stuny Posted January 11, 2019 Share #3 Posted January 11, 2019 Very nice. I think you'll like the V-Lux 114, but there are a couple of reasons you might not encounter right away. One is that you can overcome the auto focus and manually focus much easier and better than with the V-Lux 1 through 4. Second, there is a menu opion to extend the long end of the zoom via an exceptionally effective program to 800 MM with virtually undetectable negative impact on image quality.
mikozia Posted January 13, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted January 13, 2019 Thank you Stuart for the tip.I'll do just that and try it out tomorrow. We are having a nice break in weather, maybe I can finally get some clear shots of the distant Mt. Ranier from the patio.😀

Stuart, is this an option only available for capture in jpeg format?
stuny Posted January 14, 2019 Share #6 Posted January 14, 2019 Sorry, David - I don't know. BTW: It's called "iZoom."

mikozia Posted January 26, 2019 Author Share #11 Posted January 26, 2019 Just a quick test for color rendition between the V-Lux and typ 114, straight from the cameras other than resizing to fit. V-Lux and then typ 114: I prefer the color the the old V-Lux myself. Welcome, dear visitor! wda Posted January 27, 2019 Share #12 Posted January 27, 2019 I feel there is a slight under-exposure in the second one, not entirely a colour issue although I do prefer the first one. Apart from that, I produce a camera profile using a Pantone ColorChecker, fine-tuned if necessary in Lightroom and the relevant profile is then applied when new files are downloaded. That ensures that colour is to my liking.

However, as wda says, the second photo looks slightly underexposed. Nonetheless, an interesting comparison.

Pecole Posted March 28, 2019 Share #20 Posted March 28, 2019 Hi, Mikozia. Just to say that I like very much your images - especially of flowers -, and that I opened this site this morning because it includes "V-Lux" and that since I stopped collecting after 30 years, I only use a tiny V-Lux 20 (I am now 85 and , Belgian born, we live in Portugal since 1993 with Colette, my wife since 57 years).
