Bit confused about leica film cameras. There is the MA and the MP.

What is the difference?

What is the m10 equivalent?

M-A = fully manual camera, no lightmeter (so use an external meter or shoot sunny 16);
MP =  fully manual camera + built in lighmeter, but there is no A or S priority mode;
M-A = black chrome --> no engraving, stealth & cleaner look OR silver chrome with engraving;
MP + paint black with engraving OR silver chrome with engraving
Both viewfinders are superb, but M-A viewfinder is claimed to be slightly better;
M-A viewfinder has no exposure information taking up space at the bottom;

Black paint, black chrome or silver chrome...... It's all a matter of taste.

M10 equivalent? There is no, it's being in another league.

The MP has a built-in lightmeter, the MA hasn't. So obviously the MP has a small battery compartement.

As a result, I believe that the viewfinder of the MA is slightly less cluttered as it does not display lightmeter info.

The skin is also different. I really dislike the standard skin of the MP but you can choose a different one if you buy "à la carte".

The closest film M to an M10 would be an M7, which had an Auto shutter speed selection, but it is out of production - though available used.

Found an error. According to the wiki summary table, the MA has the same metering system as the MP. On wikipedia, it does not.

As M-A user since 2014 after MP, I can say that M-A has no metering system 😇.

Seen this in Wiki here M-A (type 127)
