Panasonic has second version of camera D-Lux 109 is based on. Mark II has new (at least to me) digital manual focus. It means you are looking in EVF and focusing camera by the touch screen. I hope they will dress it as Leica soon.

No idea but i'm trying to figure out how it may work. AE lock, recompose, touchpad AF, AF lock, shoot?

First impressions of the LX100 II are already out and full evaluations will follow shortly in Amateur Photographer and DPReview. As the new DL is likely identical, barring the Red Dot, it should be say to figure out.  Leica might launch in time for the Christmas Holidays or wait until Photokina in May to launch.

I know its probably a pipe dream, but it would be nice for Leica to put a hybrid optical/electronic finder on that camera for better visual clarity.  

Also, why not make the zoom range from 28-90mm with the same fast aperture?  Make it a real Leica instead of a re-badged Pana.

That will make it the Leica DL-111 as in “Ours goes to 11” model - the one that follows the DL-110...
