Advertisement Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Hi LUF Admin, Take a look here Firmware updates Leica M10 (2.6.5.0) and Leica M-10P (2.6.5.1) . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
euston Posted October 1, 2018 Share #2 Posted October 1, 2018 » Leica M10 Version 2.6.5.0 (Download) Details and installation instructions Important: If your are using the existing Leica M app you shouldn't update. After the update your Leica M10 / M10-P will work only with the new Leica Fotos App My Leica M app was updated a couple of days ago to version 1.1.2. The purpose of the update was stated to be “Supports new firmware 2.6.5.0 or higher” Has Leica now rescinded this statement? Or does the updated M app still support M10 firmware 2.6.5.0? euston Posted October 2, 2018 Share #3 Posted October 2, 2018 But answer came there none. It turns out that the warning not to update to 2.6.5.0 is indeed outdated and wrong, at least as far as iOS is concerned. I updated my M10 today and can report that it works just fine with the updated Leica M app on my iPhone.
scott kirkpatrick Posted October 2, 2018 Share #4 Posted October 2, 2018 It seems the 1-click WiFi startup from the function button isn't there yet. I press the function button and nothing happens. It's not in custom controls. In fact I prefer to keep the function button for bringing up magnification in liveview. Two button presses in the favorites menu is fast enough for me. But am I missing something?
UliWer Posted October 2, 2018 Share #5 Posted October 2, 2018 My Leica M app was updated a couple of days ago to version 1.1.2. The purpose of the update was stated to be “Supports new firmware 2.6.5.0 or higher” Has Leica now rescinded this statement? Or does the updated M app still support M10 firmware 2.6.5.0? The updated „Leica M App“ works with the M10 updated to Firmware 2.6.5.0, so the warning in the instructions for 2.6.5.0 - which was justified before - is not valid anymore. I compared it to the new Phots App here: https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/289858-leica-m10-firmware-2650-released/?p=3603039
PokCam Posted October 2, 2018 Share #6 Posted October 2, 2018 After updating M10 to version 2.6.5.0 the shutter speed display can now show 1/25 sec (!) when looking through the viewfinder (OVF) - at the same time the LCD screen back on camera shows the common used 1/24 sec as also will be "stamped" on the picture when reviewing. Displaying 1/24 sec through the viewfinder will still be possible when the exposure is measured to be exactly 1/24 sec. I know that the camera calculates all possible shutter speeds - but to avoid confusion it normally should "round" (filter) the figure to a common used value before presentation - in this case 1/24 sec (although the factual shutter speed will be calculated as 1/25 sec). Perhaps a minor bug to be corrected in the next update . Best regards P

colorflow Posted October 2, 2018 Share #8 Posted October 2, 2018 Still no manual lens ID for Summilux 35 double aspherical. Very disappointed. Emailed Leica USA months ago and they assured me it will be in next update. But now says Customer Care lost argument with Product Management and don't understand why they won't include it. I need it to identify its photos from other Lux 35's.
Dannybuoy Posted October 3, 2018 Share #9 Posted October 3, 2018 Just getting a 404 on the FW link in the post. I've visited the FW download page for M10 and the latest FW to download is 2.4.5.0. Was the 2.6.5.0 pulled?

If I shoot at 25, the EXIF file says 24 so I think it is just a bug and like any bug, it seems it has now spread to the M10 ..
PokCam Posted October 5, 2018 Share #14 Posted October 5, 2018 Thanks Fedro I can confirm your figures. This is very important info because this means that the camera itself will not be defect. Showing 15-24-25-30-45-50-60 in the LED-display is not a big deal - whereas a defect camera would be a completely different story. It must be a bug - Let's be glad that it does not show all values between 4 minutes and 1/4000 sec. BR P
Fedro Posted October 5, 2018 Share #15 Posted October 5, 2018 Exactly ... two is company I was going to show it to the Leica store at some point, will let you know what they say .. Cheers
PokCam Posted October 6, 2018 Share #16 Posted October 6, 2018 Exactly ... two is company I was going to show it to the Leica store at some point, will let you know what they say .. Cheers Further two divergences between the LED-display and the LCD-screen when in aperture priority mode: LED will show 1.5" instead of 1" (therefore 1.5" applies for both 1" and 1.5"). LED will show 2 instead of 3 for ⅓ sec (therefore 2 applies for both ½ and ⅓ sec). So, out of many, many values 4 readings will deviate with half a stop. On my personal M10 all other shutter speed readings seems to correspond. I found another M10 in a local store that also was able to show 1/25 sec :-) But it really is strange to have two different readings at the same time ... I need it to identify its photos from other Lux 35's. Are you sure, there is no other way to identify the 35mm Summilux Aspherical from other 35mm Summilux asph versions than the EXIF? Absolutely no difference in results? If so it must have been horrible for users of both versions during times of film.

Absolutely no difference in results? If so it must have been horrible for users of both versions during times of film. Sure, on a shot by shot basis it can be relatively easy to identify especially when there is sample from another lens to compare with. For example, the color of the 35AA is cooler than the FLE and warmer than the none-ASPH. I don't know how its color compares with the ASPH version though. Its bokeh is distinguishable from the others too, especially that of the OOF light source (orbs ?). But I certainly would like to have it in the exif. No reason why it shouldn't. It was in all the previous digital Ms.
