wceide Posted September 27, 2018 Share #1 Â Posted September 27, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I have been impressed by the sl sensor. It shines compared to my m240. As I am planning to purchase a m10p and a sl (or a future sl2) , i am wondering if sl and m10 sensors are the same. If not how do they differ. Thanks and sorry if the info is already in the forum. Best.

Alistairm Posted September 27, 2018 Share #2  Posted September 27, 2018 I'm not sure that they are the same, but in my use I see little difference between the output quality of the M10 and the SL sensors... except that the SL can use the SL glass, which is sharper than any of the M glass.
mmradman Posted September 27, 2018 Share #3  Posted September 27, 2018 M10 sensor is younger [2017 i think] than SL601 [2015] sensor, M10 is allegedly cleaner at high ISO but i wouldn't personally loose sleep over it as i don't have M10 or plan to buy it.   Both sensors are 24Mp.  I was also impressed with SL over M240 and consequently sold the M camera. i was even more impressed with EVF on the sL and  this is where real strength of the camera is.  If you fancy AF lenses in Leica full format SL is probably best camera around, and optically L lens are spectacular.  Sometime in 2019 SL mk2 and Panasonic/Sigma models start coming to market. wceide Posted September 27, 2018 Author Share #4  Posted September 27, 2018 I have à series of M lenses and 17 / 24 tse canon (uses on 5dsr) My plans are to replace first my m240 by an m10p and then replace the 5dsr by an SL or SL2. I just want to make sure m10 sensor is at least as good as the SL one.
