Hey there,

new guy, already with a problem I could not find an answer online so far, and it makes me lose my hair worried.

Got a Leica Q, used no warranty... nfortunately that was all I could afford, and really wanted one. After enjoying it for a while, I noticed a weird "scratch" on every photo, so the question is, what is it, how bad is it, or perhaps if something can be done about it?

I've uploaded full size files here, and marked the spot https://www.dropbox.com/sh/re49ynhdsin9u2n/AACyaSwN33KTMRfcRPa452Xua?dl=0

Any ideas? :(

That is indeed weird - it looks like the sensor corrosion on the M9, to which the Q is certainly not susceptible. Send it in to Leica (Wetzlar!!) , there is a chance that the repair might be courtesy.

Hey, thank you for your input, it sounds promising, although I've been told by the guy who sold it to me that I can get my money back if there's anything wrong with the cam. Now I wonder, should I investigate further or just get the money back and look for another seller. I've got it cheaper than they usually go for (around 2500 Euro).

Do you think it would make more sense just to give it back to the seller or it's worth keeping and fixing this weirdness?

Send it back and look for another.

I was going to say it's a hair on the sensor but it looks like something more serious. It's a big gamble to keep the camera and be the laboratory dog for Leica's quality control dept.

Send it back and get your money back - assuming the seller means it!
