jmahto Posted September 18, 2018 Share #1 Posted September 18, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I ordered few rolls of TMax 100 without noticing the expiry date. It says 2015 and the vendor says it was cold stored. Quick question. Should I be concerned of the result being sub optimal? I will be storing it in freezer and plan to use it within one year. Advertisement Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Hi jmahto, Take a look here Expiry date of film (TMax100). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Pyrogallol Posted September 18, 2018 Share #2 Posted September 18, 2018 (edited) It should be fine. Try a roll before freezing the rest in case you find that it is not as good as normal fresh film, then you might feel like using it up a bit more freely rather than saving it in the freezer. I am getting to the end of a 30mt bulk roll of FP4 that I bought cheap as it was out of date and the seller said that it had been frozen. It has been OK but might have lost a little contrast/speed. A bit like food it might not like being frozen, defrosted and refrozen, but it should not give you food poisoning. Also I used some out of date TMax recently and that was OK. octo Posted November 22, 2018 Share #3 Posted November 22, 2018 Just for a test, I tried a Tmax 100 exp date 2013 recently but set it at 60 ASA and it worked fine. It had been stored at12°C
earleygallery Posted November 22, 2018 Share #4 Posted November 22, 2018 I would be amazed if it wasn't absolutely fine!

Hopefully you got it cheap?

I will have to check the price but I don’t remember it substantially cheap.
edstock Posted January 23, 2019 Share #7 Posted January 23, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Black and white film is very forgiving. Should be fine with proper storage.
